ABOUT US

CULTURE IS EARNED.
NOT ACTIVATED.

We built Makeeta because we kept watching the same thing happen. Filipino artists and creators were shaping music, taste, and culture while brands struggled to find a meaningful way in. When they did show up, it was often temporary. A campaign here. A placement there. A cultural moment treated like a marketing opportunity instead of a community worth building a relationship with. The problem wasn't a lack of interest. It was a lack of belonging.

So we built Makeeta.

WHY WE EXIST

Makeeta exists to help brands earn belonging in Next-Gen Filipino communities. Not by helping them look more Filipino, inserting them into a moment, or borrowing an artist's influence for a campaign. We bring brands into genuine relationship with the Filipino artists, creators, and cultural voices already shaping these communities, then build stories, collaborations, and experiences together that people actually want to be part of. Because belonging isn't something a brand can claim for itself. It's something communities decide to give you based on how you show up, what you contribute, and whether you keep showing up after the campaign ends. That's the difference Makeeta was built around.
READ OUR STORY

OUR WHY

To move Filipino voices from the sidelines to the center.

OUR VISION

A world where Filipino culture is the global standard.

OUR MISSION

Build belonging through participation, not promotion.
THE MAKEETA APPROACH

BUILD WITH CULTURE, NOT AROUND IT.

The best cultural work doesn't start with a finished campaign and then look for someone Filipino to put inside it. It starts with people. Artists bring their worlds, perspectives, ideas, and relationships with their communities. Brands bring goals, resources, capabilities, and opportunities. Hosts and storytellers bring new ways for ideas and conversations to travel. Makeeta brings the cultural judgment, relationships, creative development, and production that help those different worlds build something together. That work can start with a brand, with an artist, or with something Makeeta believes should exist on its own. What matters is where it ends: with work that feels like it belongs. That's participation, not promotion.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

MAKE THE WORK UNDENIABLE

We believe cultural relevance deserves great creative. Everything we build should be thoughtful, distinctive, and executed at a level worthy of the people and culture behind it.

CONNECT WITH INTENTION

Every relationship we build starts with fit, trust, and a reason to work together. The goal is never simply to make the introduction. It's to create something stronger because the relationship exists.

HONOR THE HERITAGE

Filipino culture is our heartbeat, not a mood board. We respect where things come from, understand the context behind them, and never reduce culture to an aesthetic.

DITCH THE
GIMMICKS

We don't manufacture cultural moments or force connections that aren't there. If the idea only works because everyone agrees to pretend it belongs, it doesn't belong.

MOVE WITH
PURPOSE

Every creative decision should have a why. We don't build things simply to be visible. We build things that contribute something.

PROTECT THE
SOURCE

Communities create culture. Artists and creators carry it forward. We make sure the people responsible for that value are respected, credited, and positioned to benefit from what gets built.

FROM THE FOUNDER

I spent years working across music, media, events, and creative strategy, and I kept seeing the same disconnect from different sides. Filipino artists were building incredible things. Communities were creating their own spaces, sounds, and movements. Brands could see the opportunity, but too often the relationship stopped at visibility. Find someone with an audience. Make the content. Run the campaign. Move on. I knew there had to be a better way to build. That's why I created Makeeta. I wanted to build a company where Filipino artists and creators could sit at the table as creative partners, where brands could have honest guidance about how to participate, and where the relationship mattered just as much as the thing we eventually produced. Because I've spent enough time inside these communities to know that reach doesn't create trust, representation alone doesn't create relevance, and no amount of marketing can manufacture belonging. You earn it by showing up with respect, contributing something worthwhile, and building relationships people actually want to continue. That's the kind of work I want Makeeta to be known for.
